Financial Assistance for Mid-Atlantic Businesses

MATAAC helps import-impacted American firms receive direct technical assistance to create and implement targeted business recovery plans. This allows firms to receive customized assistance from industry experts knowledgeable about their unique needs, challenges, and opportunities.

Financial assistance is provided to engage the services of outside experts and consultants that work directly with your firm on knowledge-based projects specific to your company’s needs.

MATAAC’s service area consists of Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington, D.C.

3 Requirements to be Certified as Trade-Injured

U.S. firms that have experienced a decline in sales, in units or dollars, may be eligible for the Trade Adjustment Assistance for Firms (TAAF) program. There are variations of the requirements that may increase your firm’s potential ability to qualify.

MATAAC will help you determine the appropriate guidelines and requirements to apply to your company’s unique circumstances.

Program Phases

Firms work with MATAAC to apply for certification of eligibility for TAAF assistance and to prepare and implement strategies to guide their economic recovery. There is no charge for assistance in preparing the petition application for certification.

One of the benefits of participating in the TAAF program is that every certified firm receives a customized business recovery plan known as an Adjustment Proposal. MATAAC works closely with company management to identify the firm’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats along with a complete diagnostic review of the company’s position and goals.
